With this specialty, the students are supposed to learn the basic theories and methodologies of statistics and familiarize themselves with the current status and future development of statistical theories and practices in both China and foreign countries. The aim of the program is to train special talents who, having excellent knowledge of mathematics and economics, can expertly analyze data with computer and are able to cope with such development and application work as statistical investigation, statistical information management, quantitative analyses and so on in government organs of all levels, enterprises or companies; and who can also undertake teaching and research work in teaching and research institutes.
